As part of our home education process we have our children write short stories and essays. Last year during one such assignment the girls decided to write about their household chores. I thought this was an excellent idea because chores are usually the main source of complaints in our house. As I read through their writing assignment I thought it would be a good idea to have their work published. We all collectively loved the prospect and the girls began to share ideas on what the world would be like without chores. Thus the story was born, “A world without chores.”

The girls sprang it into action again and both brought fresh ideas together on paper. As the story unfolded and came together we sought out the services of a publisher. Lena Arnold, of Empire Publishing, has worked tirelessly to make this happen. My girls are now officially young authors and were so elated to hold their first book in their hands a few days ago. We are so proud of them and look forward to their next project. The publisher is working on a Spanish Edition of their book and they are already working on sequels at the request of a focus group.

So far, the sequels to A World Without Chores are, A world without plants, A world without parents and a world without animals. We are having all of the students in our academy join in on the project. We look forward to seeing these unfold as well and encourage parents to explore their children’s creativity.

Of course we would love for you all to purchase the book as it becomes available. This should be in the next couple of weeks as the publisher makes some minor changes to the project. Thanks in advance for your support.
